Government debt and the common ideas surrounding it
The figures of national debt are staggering irrespective of the financial strength of the country. In US the debt clock keeps reminding every citizen about the amount o money they have to bear. As a matter of fact as national debt gets spiked up sharply, the concerns of citizen get spiked up too. At the end of the day, system will ask a common man to pay off the debt through raised taxes. Hence, rise in government debt will definitely be taken as a hindrance for a nation’s economic growth.
It cannot be defied that a government debt makes the people of the country pay more taxes, but the debt of government needs to be looked upon with a broader perspective. There are counterfactual statements that say that greater government debt doesn’t harm the economic growth. Looking at the effect [...]
The urge to splurge
Alright, let's get this one out of the way early; technically, the recession is behind us. It's been that way for some time now in the U.S. What we are feeling right now is the clinch of an economy that is recovering so slowly as to make growth seem almost non-existent. There are many among us that even fear the “inevitability” of a double-dip recession, as the experts are calling it. That said, there are still very many good reasons to keep your wallet shut firmly and for you to keep counting your pennies. If you are anything like me though you will find it impossible to keep staying frugal. It drives me batty to be so, if I were to be honest with you and I am always having to check and double-check myself when it comes to splurging. It kills me that I can't, it really does. It just helps [...]
3 reasons why people are saddled with debt
It’s amazing when you sit down for a moment to think about it, but it’s as true as anything you’ve ever heard. Deep down, many people don’t fully understand how to manage their finances. It can be termed as depressing, but it can also be described as infuriating at times. Where is financial prudence when you need it most? As an increasing number of Americans slip over the precipice and into the abyss of debt, here are three very simple reasons why debt afflicts so many people, including people you may know.
A simple lack of discipline
Where has common sense gone? It’s now more uncommon than ever as people look to spend more than they can actually afford, even if they know fully well that they can’t afford it. This has all been fuelled by our increasingly materialistic lifestyle [...]
Bank on it
Europe’s debt problems are well documented, but the sovereign debt crisis that is sweeping across the continent has actually picked up speed in recent months and shown signs of worsening. Even so, banks continue to flock to nations such as Greece even though they are burdened with debt in an effort to buy into the debt instruments been sold by such nations. The same holds true of all other nations with such several fiscal issues as Greece.
By doing so, banks have gone and extended the amount of credit they offered to governments and institutions in the private sector and the beneficiaries of such debt are countries such as Greece, Ireland, Portugal and Spain. A flow of capital to the tune of $109 billion has taken place in the first quarter of 2010 compared with the previous quarter and [...]
15 Things That Shows We Are Changing
Although frugal living was out of question few years ago, consumers are now welcoming it gracefully, and accepting it as a way of life. The economy is still worse, and growth would be slower, if there isn't a double-dip recession awaiting us. However, Americans seem to be adjusting themselves with the economy. Here are few things that most of us are trying to eliminate from our lives.
1. Debt
Couple of years ago, most people weren't concerned about their debts. However, post recession, consumers are more worried about their score and payment history. If they cannot afford something, they wouldn't buy it and accumulate more debt.
2. Window Shopping
Browsing through shopping sites, simply to check what's in the store was one of our favorite hobbies. But most of us have realized [...]
The Relation Between Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and Obama Administration
One of the financial institutions that have recently integrated with Obama federal loan modification program is Wells Fargo Bank. They have done this through having their own set of regulations for people who need such assistance. In the past few months, we have seen many banks adopting Obama program as they need government’s help more than the customers do.
So, what is the program all banks have adopted? What did Obama introduced that may help home owners as well as the banks? What is the recent change in Wells Fargo Home Mortgage lending? Being a retail customer, we must know all the factors and declarations regarding home loans or mortgage, especially the ones that benefits you.
One of the major promises made by Obama was helping financial institutions tremendously if they restructure [...]
Fart When it is Crowded
While watching the Asian puppet show, the museum, which was otherwise quiet, heard a ‘booooop’ sound. I wasn’t sure what the sound was until a stench reached my nose. It was a fart. To find the source, I looked around. People, however, were busy doing the same and finally darted their eyes on me. Ooops, it wasn’t me.
“Hey, it’s not me,” I said and pointed towards the kid wandering through the empty seats ahead. “It was the kid, I guess.” People started forgetting the incident and the air got fresher with every passing second.
Later, after the show, I went up to the kid, tapped on his shoulder and said, “Hey kid, you really got me trouble. Let me usher you to the bathroom.”
He looked at me silently and said, “Sorry sir. But I was just farting. It relieves me, [...]
